James Gunelson, DDS

Dr. James Gunelson graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Since then, he has devoted much of his continuing education to implant dentistry and sedation. He has completed over 500 hours of continuing education courses, completing the Advanced Dental Implants Institute’s Puerto Rico MaxiCourse® and his residency in implant dentistry. During that time, he also gained the expertise and credentials needed to offer conscious IV Sedation for his patients.

Dr. Gunelson is an avid outdoorsman and gained his love for the outdoors growing up in northern Minnesota. He enjoys hunting deer and grouse and manages to get through the long winters by staring at holes in ice, hoping a half-hibernating fish will pass by. He also enjoys playing and watching sports, cooking and grilling, and traveling.

Dr. Gunelson has lived in Stanley since 2011 and is married to his best friend and Stanley native Roselenna, who also works at the dental office with him. Their large family of five is constantly on the move and loves to serve their friends and community.

Sue

Receptionist & Insurance Coordinator

Sue joined our team in 2015, brining with her more than 29 years of experience in the dental field. She enjoys greeting and getting to know our patients and seeing them and their families grow over the years. Sue works hard to address our patients’ concerns and help them with any questions they may have, especially where insurance benefits are concerned.

Sue and her husband have two children and four grandchildren. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

Courtney

Dental Hygienist

Courtney graduated from CVTC in 2018 and has been a part of our team since March 2021.

Before becoming a dental hygienist, she was a dental assistant for seven years.

When she’s not at work, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family. Together, they bond over their hobby farm, making maple syrup, travelling and finding new things to do. She especially enjoys being a native in the same small town that she practices dental hygiene in. This helps her connect with patients and build lifelong relationships, all while maintaining a high level of care.

Jenna

Dental Hygienist

Jenna graduated from Chippewa Valley Technical College in 2014 with certifications in local anesthetic and nitrous oxide. She’s been practicing dental hygiene for over five years, and throughout that time, she has also enjoyed dental assisting. She loves helping and interacting with our patients and wants each patient to feel comfortable in her care.

Jenna’s favorite part of her job is working with a family-owned practice where patients become friends. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting, decorating, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Jada
