What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first appointment is all about getting to know you and your smile. When you arrive, our team will greet you, review your paperwork, and make sure you feel comfortable. To save time, you can complete your patient forms at home before your visit.

A Thorough Dental Exam

Dr. James Gunelson will perform a comprehensive exam of your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw. We use digital X-rays and an intraoral camera to see what the naked eye cannot, and we include an oral cancer screening as part of every exam.

A Personalized Treatment Plan

After your exam, Dr. Gunelson will explain his findings, answer your questions, and create a dental plan based on your unique needs and goals. Whether you need a routine cleaning or more advanced care, we will walk you through every option before treatment begins.

Insurance and Payment Made Simple

We accept most dental insurance plans, and our insurance coordinator will help you understand your benefits. Visit our Financial Information page to learn about payment methods, including CareCredit®.

Before Your Appointment

  • Complete and print your patient forms, or bring them with you
  • Bring your photo ID and dental insurance card
  • Have a list of current medications and medical conditions
  • Let us know if you feel anxious so we can help you stay comfortable
